I've just taken the plunge and made a rather large charitable donation to BE for full year membership for me and the pony..... I had rather stupidly assumed that this would take us both round to June 2009. Alas, I have cocked up it seems. I am now a member for 12 months but the horse is only a member for the rest of this season - no different to part year membership for her which would have been about the half the price. I am sure that nowhere through the online process did it warn me that the full year membership option for the horse would still only be for the next 4 months. They have even posted me ballot stickers for Mar/Apr/May 08

Is it just me that finds their processes incredibly difficult to comprehend? Go on, call me stupid I won't mind

Lmao at the ballot stickers!! But did know you would be getting half year membership...though only cos I have been a member for a while now!! Horse membership is per calendar year (so 2008, 2009 etc) your membership is 12mnths if that makes sense?! I know isnt particularly logical!!!
 
If you felt they weren't clear then kick up a stink and point out that you wouldn't have joined if you were aware that her membership was only till the end of the season.

BE is far too expensive all around now to have to fork out for just 4 months membership.
 
It's rubbish and I think they misrepresented it. I shall be contacting them tomorrow. And what the hell I am supposed to do with ballot stickers for March!

If you phone them they are very reasonable. My friends horse went lame in March before it had got to a show and they let her put it all on hold until he was better.

I'm sure they will let you move it to July.
 
Just to let anyone who read my grumpy post last night know - I rang BE this morning and explained what had happened - they are refunding the difference between full year and part year horse membership.
Problem solved. That will teach me for not reading the small print! Thanks BE!
 
STAFFORD. Sorry to shout, but I definitely heard this straight from the horse's mouth, even if the horse had been drinking a bit of vino rose.
