Sometimes, she just doesn't get me. Like today, for example. On the way to the square place with a roof on, there was a weird white thing that I had a look at. She got annoyed, and called it a "piece of foam", which can't be right, because I know foam from the bath-bucket, and it is all liquidy, and certainly not solid and long like that thing was.
We got to the square place, and there were some things there that I hadn't seen there before. They were brown, and large, and square, and I've seen such things elsewhere, like at the party we went to a few days ago, and they can flap horribly and make noises!!
So I walked past, a bit suspicious, as I'm sure you'll understand, and I thought I was being very brave!
At the square place with the roof on, there are other square places too, that we sometimes go to do circles in. So we went in one of those today. And I thought I was making really nice circles! I only got a serious smack once, and I tried to take off because I've told her often enough that I find it hard to put my right back leg that far under me, and she keeps insisting anyway.
But other than that, things were going really well, and she kept saying "good boy" and "good pony" lots.
And then, she suddenly dropped the right rein! It fell all the way down my shoulder; I think she just let go completely! I was really scared! All I could do was run really really really fast!
I ran out of the square place, but she gobbed me in the mouth, and made me stop before we got past the green stall that has wheels on.
We did some more circles after that and also the thing where you move your bum around your front legs, and then, we went to go home. But when we got to the corner where the square brown things were, there were suddenly flashing yellow lights, and the most awful noises!!
I knew they must be coming from the brown square things just around the corner (you can't trust them), so I ran back the way we'd come as fast as I could. And the Carrot Lady made me go back to the corner!!
So I turned and ran away again. Finally, she got off, and made me follow her all the way around the corner to the brown square things. The horrible lights were gone now, so I looked, very cautiously, because she kept flapping bits of the square things at me. But then I sniffed them, and they stayed quiet.
Then, we went home. I was really on my toes. Some other horses were also going that way, and I thought maybe we'd go with them, and I really wanted to (safety in numbers, after all), even though the Scary Chicken Flap Man was riding one of them.
But the Carrot Lady made me wait. And then I saw another animal on the path ahead, so I almost turned and ran again, but she told me it was ok, so eventually we went on and got home.
But I think I must've really annoyed her, because she kept talking at me really LOUDLY about how non-scary all the scary things really were. She just doesn't understand about all the ponyvores out there!
