2 year old Blue is unbelievable - a few days ago he was fast asleep in the stable while above his head OH and Stepson were banging and hammering putting on a new roof.

This evening OH was again working on the roof and had the ladders up against it in front of one of the doors (two doors, one large shelter) when Blue backed out of the stable, knocked into the metal ladders and knocked them over with a right clatter. The other horses took off with much head tossing and snorting, but Blue? He just looked over his shoulder, turned back round and went to sleep!

A little while later he was nosing in the empty feed buckets and chucked a trug up in the air. It landed on his head and he just gave his head a shake to remove it before picking it up again and chucking it over the fence

I really can't believe how unphased by absolutely everything he is. We have come across nothing that worries him, he takes absolutely everything in his stride. In many ways that is very good, in some ways not as he is into everything and manners sometimes go out the window when there is something interesting going on!

I am sooo pleased with him though, he is adorable

I've got one similar. When we got Jesper he was 4yrs old but just off the field. We tied him up on the yard for 5mins whilst we went to fetch something and came back to find him with a ladder wrapped round his neck. Apparently one of the work men had propped it next to him so he'd stuck his head through the gap between the wrungs. Bothered? No don't be silly.
He's now 11yrs old and the yard pet as he's retired. He's forever 'helping' YO OH when he's fixing things. He doesn't find anything spooky. In fact he loves stealing emty shavings bags and the like and wrustling them at you. Nobody told him TBs are wusses.
Although worth noting he is scared of logs. Yes logs!!!
 
I think it's all down to the way you treat them. Our yard is always buisy. It's on a farm so lots of tractors, chickens, cows and screaming children. Some ponies come in spooky but after about a week they don't care about anything. Even the foals lead round passed it all!

My mare is a bit like that. I can't tie her up behind her trailer any more as if I don't watch her, she will lie down and sleep, in the middle of a busy showground. In fact the trailer partition wasn't put in right and it fell on her once on a long journey and she endured it leaning on her the whole way without panicing. I regularly ride her across a busy roundabout on the city bypass. I could go on...

However she is a big black 16.1 hunter, and it does look rather incongruous.
 
Mrs E - what is the point of putting a nice cosy stable up when I am going to look for a place down here for you so you can look after Archie. I was so looking forward to you being close.

It can be a bit of a young horse thing, fingers crossed when he gets to 3 or 4 he maintains that attitude

I've seen few 2 year old that wouldn't bat an eyelid at anything turn into right spooky monsters when they get older...vet said when they are growing they lack energy so have little outburst but can't sustain it to be spooky most of the time, they get to 3 or 4 stop growing and get way too much energy!
