I think I might have enjoyed myself this morning!!!!!

I had a jumping lesson - which always brings short breath, wildley beating heart etc. I did have quite a shriek in the run up to the first jump as he is quite keen

and I did steer him around a jump as I was trying to get him to go straight at it and he thought I wanted him to leg yeild

BUT I didn't fall off, nor was I forced to jump the arena fence as he got too keen and I am looking forward to practising during the week a little bit.

How long before I can pluck up courage to jump higher than 1 ft 3 inches (the horse is 16.2)

Seriously - how do people overcome their fears like this - I really want to jump but I am quite scared

Stick at it...I always find that the less I do, the less I WANT to do, & vice versa. Go at your own pace & try rescue remedy.

i know the feeling! I jumped my mare for the first time today- had previously been told she has NEVER jumped before, but she was fantastic, and has definately done it before, but i was to scared to jump anything bigger than 2ft3. Id jump anything on my other horse!

Stick at it, go slow, steady and just enjoy it, slowly put the fences up when you feel ready, because who cares whether you're jumping 1 ft 3 or 4ft3?!
