I think I should sell my lorry (a little unsure though)

As I have to have yet more surgery on my ankle I think it might be wise to try and sell my lorry. It would be left standing for at least a year as by the time I am ready to compete again it will be at least Nov/dec. At which point there will be enough shows going on at my yard for the winter.

On top of this, if this surgery is yet again unsuccessful I will need fusion surgery (another 8 to 10 months)

I have a Daf 45 2 horse 7.5t R reg which I hope to get around £4500-£5000 for.
My thinking is that the money in the bank would be safer than a box left standing ??????????
 
Agreed - it will cost you money to stand around anyway so might as well - and of course now is a perfect time to sell your lorry! if, however, you are anything like me, then you might want to stick the cash in a "notice" savings account so you don't have immediate access..!
 
I would sell it. I'm selling mine as I'm going back to uni to do a PGCE and can't afford to keep it or compete. I worked out what it cost me (before I use it and not including fuel) and it costs me about £70 a month(tax,insurance, mot) just to keep it without using it. Plus leaving them standing doesn't do they any good which usually means more bills.
 
If the box does the job you need, and you dont need the money, keep it. There are very few boxes available at this price which tick all the boxes. You might find it difficult to replace in 12 months time.

Its a cracking little lorry for the budget. BUT it will literally be standing there doing nothing.

Are they selling atm?

If its a great box then keep hold of it. We looked for ages and couldnt get an R reg for double that price.

Possibly but that was the plan last time and it never happened. Also it is not enough it needs to go for a decent run. As well as that it it means keeping up with the tax and insurance which is going to cost me at least £40 per month, which is not easy when I am not working for 3 months at least.

I may even need to go for more surgery needing 6 months off if this doesn't work, and I won't know if it has worked until Nov/dec
