After months of procrastination- I think I'm going to organise some educational equestrian eveninings in my area- fun, informative, opportunities to chat to experts and fellow horseowners and there will be cake- perfect for dark winter nights...your thoughts?

Was it the cake that swung it!? I've learnt from you lot that the social element is a big deal and, to be honest, that's the kind of thing I want to go and do and see and meet like minded peeps.

I would def go to something like this, would it be paid entry?
Theres been a few things like this in my area - the first was a talk from at the vets which was great very informative, and the others I've been to were a little disappointing and when I got to both I quickly realised that they were sales pitches!
Love to meet a few like minded people, chat about horses, have talks from vets, farriers etc, maybe a swap shop or something and of course tea and cake!

It would be paid entry but not too much- the area would be worcestershire initially as that's where I am. Love the swap shop idea!

That is a great idea. Round here, some of the vets are really competing for business, so you might be able to get someone to come and give an informal talk/Q&A session or demo Equine First Aid, purely for the sake of some good PR.

Cake definitely works!!! Sausage rolls and homemade soup would be good if you ended up doing more than a couple of hours...

Wish you were in Leicestershire!

I like your thinking- perfect way to speak to customers through a forum such as this. You never know, if it works well it could always be rolled out!

Sounds Great!! message me when you have times and dates please

Countrywide at Bromsgrove have a similar type evening on 30/09/2010 at 5-8pm... could be an idea to pop along inspiration
