Agree with Annagain, got to be worth a try - if she had 100s of ebayers after it, she should be able to sell it ok.
If not a lesson learnt in taking a knowledgeable person with you - I once got about 2/3 off a motorcycle by taking a guy who owned a local motorcycle shop with me - he test rode it while seller said 'Isn't that xxx from yyy shop?' and looked worried, he came back and sucked his teeth and said we needed to talk, so we went in a huddle and Mark said offer 2/3 the selling price (which I thought FAR too low) as a starting point, having pointed out 2 or 3 minor faults (like broken brake lever), amazingly the seller just said OK: what a result!
