Would someone PLEASE tell Roy that he needs to stop injuring himself! I can't afford to have the vet out every five minutes... in the last three weeks we have had:
1) a crash with his friend in the field, resulting in a cut on the fetlock down to the bone
2) some horrible awful person came into his field and stabbed him with a knife
3) today it would appear that he has bumped into something with his blind eye, and has stabbed a hole in the corner of his eyelid, which the vet is worried might be a puncture right through to the eyeball...big fat vets bill number three.

For numbers one and two we have had three follow up visits, and now my lovely vet Sam is coming out AGAIN to see him on a Sunday.
Could someone come and have stern words with him? Or make me a cup of tea because I think I might start blubbing in a minute :(
I'm off out to put the frozen peas back on his head.

they can be a nightmare, when Breeze was born I might has well have had my wage paid directly into the vets account for the first year! Hope all is well with his eye and not too serious.

Poor you and poor pony. I think I spent more time with my vet during 2009/09 than anyone else. All I can ssay is thank god for NFU Mutual and the fact that my vet is hot!!!! Hope pony gets well soon.

Thank you people...he's alright, just very sorry for himself! He had cut a slice in the corner of his eye, going from top to bottom, right through the top and bottom eyelids, so when he blinked it was opening. He's all stitched up and my wonderful fabulous vet (who is actually quite hot) has said he'll be kind with the bill because otherwise I'll have no money left! Rather irritating that this happens to the horse who is too old and too full of holes and old injuries from his life before I got him to insure!
He's very lucky that I love him so much... and I'm very lucky that my vet only laughed at me for about half an hour when he arrived to find me standing on a bucket holding a bag of frozen peas on my horses head, and him not flinching at all...

My pony loves the vet and the nurse that comes with her. He has fractured his pedal bone so she is coming out every few weeks and he actually swoons and they bring him polos and kiss him and stuff while I stand there tutting. First day he went out in a tiny pen he tripped over and cut his knee open so out she came again.

Someone stabbed your horse : 0 my worst nightmare - how terrible.

It was awful, and the police say it's highly unlikely we'll ever find out who did it unless it happens to another horse, which would be even more horrific than not knowing.
He's fine now though, very wary of people he doesn't know, and is a bit clingy when he goes out after eating all his medicine, but I'm sure he'll get back to normal soon. I've now moved him to the field outside my bedroom window and must admit that I leave the outside light on and my curtains and window open all night so I can lie in bed and watch him... not too good for my sleeping pattern but it is nice to see him last thing before I go to sleep!

He's truly milking it with the vet though, he would be one of those people who squeezes cuts to get more blood out so they can get a plaster from the sexy lifeguard! Doing very sad faces and lots of whinnying when he sees him!
