another season post im afraid :-( well watching her today i think shes in pain, i started her on oestrus as advised by my vet before trying regumate and im only half way the oestrus so far.
i put her in the stable today and she had her tail up and sounded like she had a "wet fart" but it was her attempting to squirt, she was swaying from side to side and was tucking her stomach right up, pacing the stable and had her ears back. I have only heard of one horse in pain during cycles, im waiting for vet to ring me back to discuss but i think il hold off on bringing her back into work untill its resolved. would i be right not to work her?

The easiest way to see if it's a pain reaction is to talk to the vet about doing a bute trial. 1 bute 2x a day will dull the pain. If it works then you know she is uncomfortable. If that's the case she needs a repro scan to check everything is normal then put her on regumate.

I tried a uterine marble with my mare who gets alot of pain but it didn't really work. Blummin thing is off her regumate for the winter and is still having regular seasons.

At least because the event season is over she can have a few bute to help her through the pain. She actually trrows herself up the walls.

well grace rubs her self up the walls and thinking about it, it was probably because she was uncomfortable, i thought it was her just being itchy and pulling my rugs down and peeing all over them :-/ iv got some danilon so il speak to my vet and see if hes happy for me to trial her on them. shes for sale so i think il have to take her off the market untill its sorted, dont want to sell her on like this.
