Is this persuading enough to get me up the yard?
Dear Mum. And Dad!

Although you have refused three times, I have to ask once more… Please can I go to the yard on Sunday? The weather will be bad so not many will want to turn up, ad they have a birthday party so it’ll be a good experience for me. I would appreciate it gratefully if I could go this Sunday! I understand that dad will have to go out of his way, I am willing to pay £5.00 for the time spent and fuel spent taking me. I fully understand that you will probably spend more than £5.00 on me going up the yard but I am afraid that’s all I can offer. Please can you re think your decision and allow me to go.

Comments? Is there anything else I could add?

I don't know how old you are but I think its a nice letter that shows a lot of maturity. Just correct the one little spelling mistake - line 2 - change 'ad' to 'and'. If I had such a nice daughter I would be proud. I hope you get to go.

If that doesn't do the trick - I'll adopt you

Oh dear - I say no to my kids quite often, but I always have my reasons - I expect she has hers. Still I think it was a lovely letter, and if mine had the wit to ask like that I might say yes occasionally! Better luck next time

It is a good letter. If I was your mum it would persuade me, so I'm sorry its not had the desired effect on your parents. You sound like me 20+ years ago, begging to be allowed to go to the stables, so I do know just how frustrating and depressing it is not to be allowed to do the thing you love best in the world.

Just hang in there and you WILL get your chances. How did your ride leader test go?

Rotten parents, why wont they let you go??? How old are you???

I think that you have showed great restraint (unless you have already done the tantrum thing) and maturity and they should be nice and let you go if you want to.... not as if its school or anything

Ah Nick - is it too far for you to cycle there? Is there anyone at the stables who lives in your direction who would give you a lift? Don't give up - keep asking.

Awwww I would take you too I am always ferrying my daughter all over the place! Have you got to go yet? Show your parents this forum and show them that there's lots of other parents out there that would take you if they could, may make them feel guilty!!

Then again we are all horse mad to be on here in the first place so would go to the stables rain or shine! are your parents very horsey??
