As above, Im looking for a joint supplement for my mare just as a preventative and was looking at Kentucky Joint Liquid from Cortaflex but it has Boswellia in and I thought that this was banned under competition rules. Please tell me Im wrong.

It’s one of those borderline ones.

It’s a nutraceutical which, unlike many, does have some scientific evidence behind it. As such it would technically fall under the generic anti-inflam/analgesic type rule (forgive me I haven’t checked the specifics).

So in the spirit of the rules it probably shouldn’t be used. But that applies to a lot of commonly used supplements

BUT it is not a substance tested for and as such you wouldn’t get caught out by clean sport testing.

Clear as mud?

Thanks for your reply I Hate Work. I understand what you are saying. It says that its legal for FEI so surely if someone DID get caught they would have to take responsibility wouldn't they?

BEF points to FEI for Banned Substances and it's not on there. My vet prescribes it (Bozmerix) for my horse and vet is pretty hot on what is/isn't allowed.
