Quick re-cap for those that haven't seen ,my previous posts.
Just over a year ago my beautiul boy was diagnosed with gastrocnemius tendonitis (sp), after 8 months in the stable with shock wave therapy, a course of cartrophen and regular checks and scans by the vet the swelling above the hock was massively reduced and i was told about 3 months ago, that the vet's had done all they could take it slowly, and see how it goes.
Well today i went to the yard checked the hock and Swelling is back
imagine standing behind your horse and looking at the widest part of the hock, look up the leg and the leg stays as thick as the hock. Have been in tears all day as the vet had said if tendon went again they could do no more, so have to wait now until monday afternoon to have him scanned to see exactly what the the tendon looks like.
I'm trying to be so optimistic, but i really think this could be it for him, he is only 6, so if any would like to give me any of those famous vibes, i could really do with them right now
