How did you nearly fall off of Pimms yesterday when he is the absolute dude of all dudes? Was it the hopping on straight from the box at the bottom of the gallops? Nope! Was it asking him to walk up the gallops? Nope! Did he go mental when we trotted up the gallops? Of course not! He's far too polite for that! When you stopped for picture time did he drop a shoulder and spin?! Pft! No! Ah! It must have been the rabbit that ran out from under his feet! Nope! Wrong again! The bird that flew up out of the bushes? Yes! But not in the way you think!

Bird flies up, I crap myself and jump sideways. Pimms? Nah, he just kept trotting on the same line he always was! So yes. I nearly fell off throwing myself off of the side because I spooked at a bird πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ not the horse! ME! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Feckin eejit!

I'm looking at this a different way Elf. You were anticipating the horse spooking so shifted your body in preparation being the professional that you are!

Yes..... that's exactly it .... I pre-empted the spook and moved myself to accommodate it when it then never materialised .... yes.... that must be it ... πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I about baled at a small dog barking yesterday. In my defence I was riding as "protector" to my friend who was doing their first ride and lead with their yearling - her horse is an experienced and super lead horse but I was on full alert, didn't see the dog and absolutely panicked for a brief moment

That is our purpose built gallop. It's just shy of 6 furlongs (3/4 mile). We have that and a furlong round gallop made of carpet at one yard ( I hate the carpet, it feels very jarring). At the other we have a 4 furlong woodchip straight, 2x furlong round gallops (1 made of woodchip, the other a deep sand) which connect to the straight so you can go round as many times as you like before coming off round a couple of bends and up the straight. We also have a 4 furlong grass gallop there and the schooling fields and playing fields.
