I want a free horse. ;)

Haha, there's a girl on facebook who is like this with EVERYTHING!
She wanted a horse for free and eventually got an ex racer. She wanted a puppy for free (goodness knows if she paid for one or not) she then asks for tack and collars/leads for free and everything else you could wish for.
I like cheapo things and search around for the best deal, but it just seems cheeky to expect everything for free!

The problem here is that, in most cases, the price one pays for a horse is the least of the monies laid out. If they can't afford the purchase price, then they certainly won't be able to afford all the other costs involved in horse ownership.

I have placed n ad for someone to ride 1 of the boys over the holidays with my daughter s she gets bored riding with mom & I jve others to look after they are 15.1 & 15.2 I got the following reply to ad

hello our daughter is 9 years old and she loves riding. she currently rides every sunday lessons and hacks. she so want a horse but we r unable to go to that exspense at the moment but would love her to be able to ride more regular. we do not own a saddle and this is the first time i've looked at this site so i'm not sure what loan means does this include use of saddles or do we need to provide them ourselves. hope to hear from u soon. thanks . we r very local

I was very nice & explained what a loan entailed & also Said our boys were not suitable x

Once they have a horse you then see the advert.

For part loan, 2 year old you can't ride him but can groom and do all stable duties, contribution to keep required......

or
For 6 month loan, 3 year old, needs breaking in then you can ride, no tack....

The horsey world is full of wierdos .

Girl local to me put up some thing along these lines:
Wanted - loan home for my huge poor dooer tb thats snapped a tendon (). To be kept for 6 months (winter) must be fed rugged and stabled cant be ridden and I will be having him back when he is sound.

 funnily enough no one took her up on the offer  and she got a bit of a rolloking about being a responsible owner :D

I had really nice girl call about my dressage horse last week. She's advertised at reasonable price over 2k specifically states no loans on advert. I spent 10 minsk talking to her about horse and it all sounded very positive. Just before we arranged viewing she attempted to confirm I would be happy with a long term loan! What a waste of time that was. She's nearly 6, stupidly well bred and worth quite a bit of money by most people standards but yes of course a complete stranger can have her and her tack for the best years of her life then dump her back on me old or ruined or mid winter or lame etc.

LOL cheek of it hey. I had the opposite...had one advertised up for loan and had someone offer to buy for £400 instead of a loan.
