I. Want. To. Cry.

Glad he's ok! Anything on the floor is a dog toy, according to my lot, but anything on a table is not to be touched. The presents are all in the conservatory behind very heavy sliding doors.

Hope the dog isn't too worse for wear after the chocolate feasting.

I can only imagine the carnage if I left Tyson in a room full of presents. We can't even put the tree on the floor, because he rugby tackles it :o
Its currently balancing on top of his cage :D

Glad he seems to be OK. My IWS once stole a box of posh chocolates from the top of the microwave where I had left them thinking they were plenty high enough from a dog who had never previously stolen food! Fortunately he didnt suffer any ill effects. I now have 2 younger ESS and I too darent put a tree on the floor or any presents anywhere within reach, I just dont trust them not to be tempted when Im not looking. This year we have a small tree on a side table which,so far, has remained safe, although there are no chocs hanging from it, just in case. If you have house contents insurance, it might be worth checking, some do cover accidental damage caused by pets!

Well if its any consolation I stuck 2 presents at the back of tree when I had people over last night. Legged it first thing for last bit of shopping having sorted out the dogs first. Came home less than an hour later to find youngest stafford had ripped them to pieces. Ironic thing was that last night, I very carefully checked around to make sure there was nothing left out nibbles or choc wise.

Just forgot to move the blooming presents..still you will have a story for a lifetime now!

Suddenly glad we don't have one, I can imagine Loki doing that.

"Piney green intruder! Leave this one to me!" *swoooosh! Crash!*

Glad the dog looks fine after all the chocolates OP :)

We have one dog that wouldn't touch them, another that would unwrap everything! We soon learned our lesson when we got that dog, nothing is left within range now!

Hope you manage to salvage the presents and that doggy is ok. You will laugh at this in the future. Put him on Dog shaming!

Glad the silly little sod is ok! A few years ago, daisy my whippet (who had not touched the parcels while on the floor:rolleyes:) decided to climb on the back of the sofa and pull them off the bookcase, she ate an entire box of high quality Belgian chocs:eek::eek::eek:, the same day she got kicked in the head by a pony! It was not a good christmas:rolleyes::mad::mad: but no damage done amazingly! Some dogs can be severely damaged by chocolate but others can somehow process it... Daisy was lucky! She now has doggy chocolate drops or white chocolate for a treat! X

Hope he is ok, and it must be gutting to lose all your presents :(. I have a young scatty lab who likes to 'collect' things. With all the temptation around especially at the moment she is never left alone unsupervised with the run of the house. At nights she is crated. Hindsight is a wonderful thing...

Have to admit our pressies don't go under the tree until Christmas day, I wouldn't trust our youngest Spinone for 1min on her own with anything under the tree.
Glad the little git is ok. Our older Spin once ate a large bar of dark chocolate, luckely got away with it. Spins do have a reputation for stealing food.
