Can anyone recommend a talented artist, or any great equine art? I'd love to commission a painting of my beloved steed! Needn't be hyper realistic. I'd prefer something that captures his character, expression, soft eyes etc.

I got a favourite headshot of my horse drawn by 'Louise Harrison -Artist'. Amazing likeness. Check out her Facebook page.

Nicky Litchfield did one of my old boy and she's captured him brilliantly. I knew I wanted something a bit different for him and when I saw a donkey she'd done I decided that was the artist I needed and to h3ll with the budget! He won't be around for much longer because of his arthritis sadly. https://www.facebook.com/nickylitchfield.artist

Another impulse commission was Chloe Brown for my Appy. She's got a huge personality and a straight portrait didn't feel right. Chloe captured her brilliantly. https://www.facebook.com/ChloeBrownArtwork

ETA - I'd love a 'full body' of my Appy by Chloe but she flatly refuses to give me a photogenic photo to work from and instead manages to look like a deformed giraffe every time the camera comes out. I can count decent photos of this horse on my fingers - she gurns when the camera points at her

I love the portrait of my horse done by this lady: https://www.ellerkinart.com/horses I loved having her updates and she was not frighteningly expensive. She is a lovely lady too who absolutely understands horses. :) :) If/When I can afford it I would love a colour portrait. And one of the dog, as well as the other horses...!

I had a beautiful portrait of my horse done for a special birthday, I will try to add a photo in a sec. I have been given a warning for posting links on here before though.

See if this works

shamelessly advertise away! Both commissions I had done were impulse buys from links that came across my FB feed randomly. If you've got a website or FB site then link to it ;)

No, we're definitely not allowed to post links to our own work, the two have been deleted and wrists slapped. It's been a while :D
