'TASHA WAS STOLEN' thread in trace.

I dont get angry often, but somebody has managed to make my blood boil.

How is it ok to bring animals from other countries over here for re homing when we have such a big problem with it already?! And how is it ok to call everyone uncharitable for not supporting this?!

Some of the things that were said were vile.

I have literally never been so wound up by someone on a forum before!!

Sorry, rant over. :rolleyes:

Yes thanks for highlighting that. I will probably get shot down for my thoughts, but I often find These type of people actualy achieve very little good for the animals. Indeed it's more about feeling good about themselves and wanting others to think they are wonderful as well. Time and money could be better spent getting our own house in order first. Then have a try to improve the rest of the world. And I mean that in many area's not just animal welfare.

I agree. Don't get me wrong I feel for any animal in a bad situation but this country is over run with dogs in shelters. When I got mine there was 20 other staffys needing a home. The lady said hundereds are destroyed in the UK every week. We should help these dogs first!!

Haven't read it & I won't now as I will just get cross... Totally agree we have so many animals in the uk that need a good home so why not offer one of our own a good home

Agree with all of your posts. I don't want to see people or animals suffering, of course not, but we cant help others if we haven't at least sorted out our own problems.

What got me was the way her post was written, I will quote some stuff;

As for the ones mentioning disabled dogs and cats, only 80 years ago disabled people were locked away and left to die as it was not considered that their life could be worth anything. Have you heard of evolution??? OOh and SCIENCE............. times they are 'a-changing' people and whilst I appreciate that most people are change averse that is not going to stop progress and humanity.

Do you watch the adverts asking for help in Ethiopa and think these children are not worth saving because they will have no quality of life? Does that extend to blind people as well.....

Your views are hideous and quite vile, I always wonder if you truly love animals at all........... that you are only prepared to help your own country? Most of the people involved in Romanian rescue also fund raise tirelessly for UK groups... I am talking boot sales, cake sales, fun runs, come dine with me's in their own homes and they do this several times a month. Those of you who have lost RESPECT please feel free to post on here what you currently do for the UK charities you are so concerned about.

Seriously, you all need to have a good look at yourselves.......... it aint pretty, nno no no, not pretty at all. .

I've commented on the other post. I think as a true animal lover, I'd rather do the most good possible with any funding. Which to me is treatment or pts not importing.

Totally agree. I would much rather see funding put towards education than to ship everything over here.

Without wanting to raise the Brooke issue that went on for so long in another thread :), their approach of education and guidance is the one, I feel would be most effective in bringing about a long term change of thinking.

Well I re homed an ex poundie staffy, I have done transport runs for others, I have paid boarding fees to stop a dog being pts in a pound, it's a small rescue that saved my dog so I donate money and items they can sell etc, anything I sell on eBay etc I give them the charities PayPal address so the money goes to help more dogs. I wish I could do more but my time is limited, however I always help with the money side of things. If I won the lottery id have my own little rescue :)
