I was just mounted by a dog on are walk!

Just took Darcey my 14 month old spaniel out for her walk, she is on heat at the moment so have been keeping her on her lead just in case. Was walking along the footpath near the field and this enormous golden lab came bounding over to see her, we think she is in the receptive period of her season but oboviously smelt right to the lab! She jumped up at me so i scooped her up so he mounted me instead! His owner did come running over and took him off me only to let him off again for him to come back 2 seconds later!

I was just wondering, when your dogs in season do you alsways make sure you walk on the pavement and avoid other dogs?!

All mine are neutered..but if they where not(unlikely) I would walk them well out of reach and somewhere other dog walkers rarely walked.

lol. our neighbour walks her bitches when they are on heat at about 5am then 11pm to avoid other dogs

During season days 8 through to 15 I walk my bitch where no other dogs are present. And like you I keep them on the lead. Never had your problem though lol... Both my bitches are now spayed and I never have to worry again. TG.

Looks like walks at silly a clock it is then! My neighbour told me to walk with a stick!
We were going to have her speyed but she has already had two serious operations on her back legs so holding off for now poor pup. I think she is very confused dosn't know whats going on - she just wanted to play with him.

We used to use bitch spray until we had Lucky done We used to drive somewhere to walk her away from home after some dogs followed us home and refused to leave
