i was just reading the post yesterday about...

[ QUOTE ]
Whatever lhotse you're really boring me now!

[/ QUOTE ]

What's wrong, can't you take the heat anymore?

You don't like getting found out, do you.

Hope that loulabelle doesn't buy your horse, would hate for hers to get strangles too.

I Sold my bay warmblood after 3 years thank you very much and it was a hard descision!! Grey pony ON LOAN to cousan black pony at home with me(the mare foaling)

[ QUOTE ]
loulabelle seems nice and trusting, I hope she knows the phrase BUYER BEWARE

[/ QUOTE ]

I think she may be panicking a little now, hope no money has changed hands.

Well if she isn't - she should be!

And what about the grey welsh foal, you know, the one you couldn't catch. Don't say it was your friends because you know that's not true.

They look wormy to me, and who's not to say if they spent last summer grazing on ragwort. Doubt that dbard would give that info over.

[ QUOTE ]
You made a blanket comment that none of it (as in any care of any horses) is any of our business. I beg to differ, that's why I DO help out those in need and why I DO take in the odd unfortunate case. Unlike some, I don't just bury my head in the sand and say "it's none of my business".

Where is the hard photographic evidence of neglect here? Maybe I didn't word my arguement articulately enough.. (apologies on that front, it has been a very long day
wink.gif
)I also help those aroung me very frequently, and offer advice as best as I can. However without actual evidence of neglect/cruelty in the case of Dbard I cannot jump on your bandwagon. Especially since another forum member is more then willing to vouch for this person.
What can you do on a forum anyway when someone "claims" to be doing something?

In real life if someone was abusing their horse, I will interfer. Which I have done. Try not to make sweeping generalisations about me.

Thats a chance you take with any horse you buy!
And as for wormy as I said earlier they are not the best pictures I have actually seen them and beg to differ! Plus will be worming once I get her home

lhotse, we're in agreement here, I'm saying goodbye, its nothing personal about dwotsit, but I think we've both seen this sort of thing, and worry about horses changing hands so much. Good luck Loulabelle, hope all goes well - genuinely.

To be honest i think loulabelle sounds quite sensible so maybe it's a good thinking she's buying the horse ? Unless it's still got strangles bacteria, in which case moving it around obviously isn't good.

At least the horse stands a chance of having an owner who has some idea of what they are doing. Just hope that you don't end up with a load of trouble loulabelle.

[ QUOTE ]
i advertised her on what i belived and yet to be proven wrong is true she is poor, but that is it! and no, she wasnt origanilly brought for little girl but has turned out that way so we'll be keeping her!

[/ QUOTE ]

So why did you state in your advert that your daughter had lost interest?

I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and accept that perhaps you were very inexperienced in terms of an infoal mare, as I would be. But IMO you have tried to deceive people in your ad. According to your story you had had her 2 days and your child had lost interest. Doesnt add up.

But whatever my feelings are towards people who dont tell the truth, good luck with your mare and I sincerely hope the foaling goes safely.

If you read my post clearly, I did not make any blanket statement about you. I know zilch about you, except that you always seem to pipe up when anyone picks up on someone whom they believe (based on the information given on this forum) is an irresponsible horse owner.

In any case, I believe, from having read many of this posters threads, that she is irresponsible; and now I no longer wonder how in the world that livery yard owner could evict her when all of her horses had strangles ... it all makes perfect sense to me now.

If I do I'll eat my hat
wink.gif
as I say if I had a sigle doubt I seriously wouldn't buy her, my horses mean everything to me I wouldn't but them at risk

Yes I wish you well too Loulabelle
smile.gif
. But can you do one thing? PLEASE keep the horse separate from yours until you have the horses gutteral pouches swabbed. It would be awful if it was to infect your two.
frown.gif

I would ask to see the swab results before you move her to your place. If they are not available, then get dbard's vet to do a swab and bill her for it.

I wouldn't get dbards vet to do it, you could be waiting a while.
However i agree get the mare swabbed.

It isnt a great mare but it is a youngster. The pics were pretty difficult to judge confo though. My old guy had awful confo but he was a damned good horse. I would rather take a risk with a youngster. Providing she stays sound and is good to handle and in traffic you wont go far wrong. Anyway you arent looking for a profit are you? Just a nice horse. Hope it goes well for you.

ETA- Would go with what these guys say about the swabbing as they know their stuff re Strangles. I dont. But I would quarantine knowing the horse has had contact with strangles and talk to my vet.

oh thats good to know that she wasnt colicking. thanks for informing me. i couldnt find your update on the post lol. how unexpected.
i hope this post doesnt cause a stir as i only wanted to know the outcome lol

[/ QUOTE ]
Its ot you causing the stir its just some people are taking it a little too far, maybe some of u should be posting in the common room as dont seem to be able to be adult about things!

[/ QUOTE ]

ooooh get you girlfriend
tongue.gif

God only knows!
wink.gif
It was confusing at the time and even more so now!

If I was LB I would treat like a horse from a sale ring. Just to be on the safe side. Quarantine, worm, jab and take vets advice
wink.gif

Unless the passport says she has had jabs.

dozziesmummy I'd rather take the risk with a youngster than paying a fortune for a 'adult' horse to find its not as good as advertised. I've had our 2 from when they were both around 6 months old and thankfully its all worked out fine with them, I do realise I may not be as luck 3rd time round, just a risk all horse owners take I guess

Thank you all for your advice re swabs etc, I will be geting the mare checked over once I get her home, I believe a blood test can be done that takes only 24 hrs for the results?
ETS this is just for my peace of mind, she will also be wormed and I belive she is also due her jabs
