So I bit the bullet today and took Koko in thebig air field by our stables. I started just walking around then I was trotting happily then I asked for a canter which eventually progressed into a gallop :D

Breaks were never an issue when I said stop he stopped I just feel so much more confident for the xc schooling on friday :) My instructor was laughing at me today because I'm nervous about stopping after the jump and the jumps don't bother me

Anyway here are some piccies from the field:

Do love a good piccie !! How long will those bandages stay so sparkly ? they really suit her.

the backing looks like it's going well, how long's it taken ?

Urm a day probably! We bought them second hand so maybe there dirt resistance :p I think Koko does look very smart in them, its shame you can't do dressage in bandages.

Its going very well, 3 weeks and she's cantering in the school very smart little pony, well to be honest she's being re backed because she's never been off lead rein so when let off she bombs off. She's getting tones better and will probably go out on loan soon.

Well done you!

I saw your other thread and know completely how you feel. I was bolted with on my previous horse which was the most frightening experience I have ever had in my (long-ish) horsey life. I eventually sold him because I never really trusted him after that. It took me a good year and a half with my new girl to get the confidence to canter on the way home.

Just keep on doing the scarey things when you feel it is the right time and it will all get right eventually. I always found that when I was on board things were never as bad as I thought, and it was when I was on the ground and away from the horse that the imagination monsters appeared.

And I LOVE your spotty horse.

I completly agree with you after everything that has ever happened to me its bolting which has frightened me the most and when I was 10 I had a horse rear and fall on me!

Thankyou I know what you mean about keep doing it, I think because I left it so long it was worse, so I'm aiming to make this a weekly thing to go for a gallop :)

And thankyou I was always biased about him but I think hes gourgeous (SP) :D
