I watched a foal being born this morning!

I cant believe it! I was driving down the lane to my yard, when I saw a horse on the floor. I stopped thinking it looked very still. Then realised what was going on!

I sat in my car and watched her give birth! In a field at the side of the road!!!

All that coming and going I did with Josie and Den and this mare got on with like a pro.

It was amazing to watch. Both Mummy and foal are doing well.

When I drove back an hour or so later, foalie was doing the wobbly leg bit, Mum was grazing happily like nothing had happened, with all the after birth still hanging out the back!!

Glad to know they're both doing well.

Lol yeah, he was sanding at the gate watching. I got all excited, whereas it's an everyday thing for him. He's bred for 40 odd years x

We make so much fuss over foalng these days. In reality, most horses will just foal out in the field and get on with it.
My vet has told me to do that with my mare. I think not
