LEC very kindly took Jimmy to The Hand for me on Thursday for some jumping. The first thing that I have to say is that Jimmy is an absolute saint. He is also a lot bigger than I thought he was, and has the original rocking horse canter. It's fab you just sit there and go la la la.
He was very happy to be at the show which is why when I came down to a small cross he jumped it as if it was 1.40 and then started bucking on the landing side, luckily he does it all in a dead straight line so you aren't going to come off. He was just so funny, he just kept jumping them enourmous. After some very helpful advice from LEC - kick like you are at pony club
We went in the class (85cm).
The first 3 fences weren't too great, and how he jumped out of the double I don't know, but after that I gave myself a kick up the butt and started doing what LEC told me and he went clear
We had 2 fences in the jump off, as he landed after the first fence and I 'thought' turn and he did and I got to the 2nd fence a bit quick. We came 4th
LEC did good on Rodney as well.
It was so nice to go to a show again, actually ride a horse, and I'm really grateful for LEC taking Jimmy for me.
I was really naughty on the way home as it was about 10.45 and I couldn't be bothered to cook so I bought a KFC bargain bucket for me and OH
Look at the state of my Lorry where I haven't driven it in 3 months - it's overgrown!!!
I think I'm going to get Dolly operated on, Willesley will do it for £1,300 - everywhere else is £3K, she'll be off work for about 6 months after it, but I've been looking at other horses to buy and they just aren't worth getting in debt over.
