LEC very kindly took Jimmy to The Hand for me on Thursday for some jumping. The first thing that I have to say is that Jimmy is an absolute saint. He is also a lot bigger than I thought he was, and has the original rocking horse canter. It's fab you just sit there and go la la la.

He was very happy to be at the show which is why when I came down to a small cross he jumped it as if it was 1.40 and then started bucking on the landing side, luckily he does it all in a dead straight line so you aren't going to come off. He was just so funny, he just kept jumping them enourmous. After some very helpful advice from LEC - kick like you are at pony club

We went in the class (85cm).

The first 3 fences weren't too great, and how he jumped out of the double I don't know, but after that I gave myself a kick up the butt and started doing what LEC told me and he went clear

We had 2 fences in the jump off, as he landed after the first fence and I 'thought' turn and he did and I got to the 2nd fence a bit quick. We came 4th

LEC did good on Rodney as well.

It was so nice to go to a show again, actually ride a horse, and I'm really grateful for LEC taking Jimmy for me.

I was really naughty on the way home as it was about 10.45 and I couldn't be bothered to cook so I bought a KFC bargain bucket for me and OH

Look at the state of my Lorry where I haven't driven it in 3 months - it's overgrown!!!

I think I'm going to get Dolly operated on, Willesley will do it for £1,300 - everywhere else is £3K, she'll be off work for about 6 months after it, but I've been looking at other horses to buy and they just aren't worth getting in debt over.

Think you def should have the operation if it has a high success rate. Was talking to someone with a budget of £5k and they said they had just been viewing crap. Too many horses that should be £5k are £8k and they wonder why no one is viwing. Finally bought a horse off a mate who was nice but green.

I have the video at home I will send it to you. I told my mother about what Beana said about Jarratt horses and it amused my dad! Well Jimmy is doing sod all at home so he is always avaliable - you should do some HT he is a dude.

The operation is about 80% succesful, and horses that have had it done have gone back to Intermediate eventing.

I would love to do some HT, if your RC needs to make a team up I'm not a member anywhere else.

Guess what I have just done. I went to watch Sarah and Adrian do their 2 phase event at Bath RC as it was 5 mins from my house and I took Spot in the 3 foot Open. I've probably sat on him about 3 times and jumped him once which was a bit obvious when I got dumped at the practise jump

I broke their wing

and I have a bruised bum, with a bit of skin missing.... Ride Spot he never stops.... We stuck his reins back up a ring on his bit and that seemed to make a difference.

I went in the class and had 1 fence in the first jumping bit, went straight on to the XC and flew round, wasn't as strong as I thought he would be, we managed to do both of the skinny angled doubles by jumping the first part on an angle so that he could see the 2nd part and knew where he was going and he went clear in the XC

and then we got to the jump off section Show jumping and he was a bit tired and on his forehand and we had 2 fences down. But we came 8th, so do nothing for months and then compete twice in 3 days.

Adrian won the 3ft on floyd as he was the only person to leave all the Show jumps up. Sarah came 7th on Spot in the 2'9.

How fab about today - I bet your OH will take the piss about your bum! At least you got it together in the ring! Good old Floyd what a diesel horse! Only problem with our RC HT is its in Nov and he will start hunting again in Oct.

What a clever rider and pony.. Bet you loved it, think there's a lot to be said for getting on and having the op, you'll have her out & jumping in no time. Do think you should get the dealer to pay something though.
