Went for the first time ever yesterday and is was AMAZING! Ever since I moved to the UK eight years ago, I've wanted to go but my OH would never take me so I went this year with my horsie bud.

Watched Carl Hester ride (inspired me for my own dressage lessons), got lots of free samples and boy did I buy! I had wanted a pair of Ariat lace up paddock boots to replace my old 5 year old paddock boots that have a holes in them. I didn't want the back zippered ones as I can't get my feet in them and the front zippered ones hurt my high instep but lo and behold, found a stand that had a one pair left of lovely chocolate brown size 7 1/2's with NO zippers on them, just laces for £60!

Exactly what I wanted at a bargain price! Bought the matching chocolate brown chaps to go with them for winter riding and for dressage shows as they are a tall size and I can never find chaps that are tall enough for me.

Also found a lovely sheepskin halfpad for £20, a medium weight turnout rug plus matching cover, bought fencing supplies, cheap NAF biotin.

Rode the WOW saddle horse (I want one of those saddles, so comfy!), rode the riding analyser horse and saw what I needed to correct in my riding (I collapse to the left and balance on the right rein).

It was a wonderful day!!

i went too with daughter and although ive been the last few years enjoyed this the most.did lots of shopping for chrismas pressies for myself, paid for by oh,daughter and dogs and horses got them too.also managed to see lots of demos mary king ,great as usual, vaulting squad rare breeds and the stunt riding which was amazing and had me on the edge of my seat. i have developed a crush on the guy with long black hair although im probably old enough to be his mum.a good day

Me too, went fri ... £19 to get in and no program

I also went and had a great day. Although the stunt team pinched my hat and I spent the entire day picking sand out of my hair afterwards.

Those who went in the evening, what did you think of Richard Davidson?

I loved the stunt team. My hat was the black and white woolly one with white bobbles. It came all the way from Australia as a gift he he. I think the bloke with the scarf on his head picked it up.

HAHA isnt that the hat that the guy on stilts was talking about?
lol. im surprised you got the hat back, bet it took them a while to find it again?
Nickie

He he, I believe he was talking about it, yes. They asked for hats and he said something along the lines of "We even want ones with bobbles on" whilst staring at me. I dread the words audience participation as I seem to have one of those faces that reads "please pick me, I'd love to join in". Didn't mind really though - it's washed and hanging in the kitchen drying at the moment.

Loved it! First time I've been and definately will go again. Managed to get my christmas present from the parents, lovely pair of Ariat Bromonts (the non-insulated ones) - should have been about £179.99 got them for £159.99 so well happy that I even managed to find some to fit hehe! Another bargain, managed to get a 5 point breastgirth for £50! Although it's a copy of the Jeffries one, it's still English Leather but the sheepskin isn't as good quality but that's easy to replace when it starts to go horrible so not fussed since it's better than spending £150 on one!
Demos were great, saw Mary King, both Geoff Billingtons ones and the stunt team - thought all were fantastic although Geoff's were a bit repetitive and not what was advertised in Your Horse - one was supposed to be with Laura Renwick on jump off techniques!!! Also caught a bit of the horses inside out talk with the horse that has it's inside bits painted on the outside lol v imformative. Breed village was also fantastic, some gorgeous ponies and one beautiful Cleveland Bay who I believe is owned by StinkerStonkersMum - gorgeous horse hunny!!!
Shopping was amazing though and I wish I'd had more money - definately going to plan ahead for next year's one lol!

Good to hear that everyone had a good time.

I have a cheeky request though...

I was about to order some stuff from Equestrian Clearance Warehouse and they've emailed me to say that they were giving out a discount code. Could anyone help and let me have the code?

Many thanks!

We watched Carl, Mary and Geoff twice! Didn't see the stunt thing as was off getting lunch and shopping.

Poor Mary when Cavvy missed at the pallets, she is the loveliest lady ever and clearly loves her horses, she is a real inspiration and proves you don't need to be a bully to get good results.
Geoff was hilarious, that poor girl riding Yobbo how she stayed on I'll never know!
