I went with my instinct and early days but it might well pay off.

3 weeks ago I posted about a horse I looked at LWVB. Well yesterday I picked him up. I had my confidence knocked with my last horse and had some really good advice off here. I rode out today with a friend and he was so well behaved, the horse i went out with had a bit of a jog but my horse just plodded on behind. I can honestly say he didn't bat an eyelid at anything. I knew If I found the right horse my confidence for hacking would come back, and I can safely say it has. I have him on trial for 3 months so I will not be rushing to buy him, and I will have a full vetting done.

Excellent news! I am so pleased for you, it sounds like this might be 'the one' for you, fingers crossed everything continues positively for you (I'm sure it will, he sounds a keeper!)

G8 BWH:D

glad you had a good ride take it slow as i am sure you will. Its horrid loosing your nerves and its hard to get them back. But when the right horse comes along

They can work miracles. keep us posted and maybe some pickies of your new temp Equine :D

Thanks Rockysmum, when I get some good ones I will e-mail you. He has been living in for weeks because of wet grazing so he has a very large belly. So he's on a diet and exercise programme to get it off before spring.

There you go. Another coloured :D :D

The owner assured me he was safe on the roads and she was telling the truth. A shoot was nearby and he didn't even notice it. And he's the only horse I've had that isn't scared of Shetlands when he'd first seen them :-) as their is 30 on our yard.

Right, so you are in Staffordshire and I am in Cheshire - can you lend him to me for a bit when you have fully regained your nerve????

He sounds just super for someone like me - used to ride a lot but haven't done for at least ten years. Would just love to see if I could get my nerve back. Have a 13.3 Irish cob boy, broken in and now ridden by a good friend but when I sat on him last year, felt decidedly squeamish. Look after him, he's a treasure!

Ahh, I might just take you up on that in the summer! Coping with rescued cats at the moment plus 2 dogs, 5 goats, sheep, 3 ponies and OHs Shire who has a poorly foot at moment. On top of all this, I am training for the Wilmslow Half Marathon in March, its on the day of my 65th birthday so seemed to be a challenge I couldn't resist!!

You enjoy your riding - my day will come!
