Iv been horseless for the past 18 months.
So recently iv been itching to get back in the saddle again and have been looking at ALL the classifieds. But I just couldnt afford what i wanted until i saved up.
Anyways theres an Irish Draught Stud about a mile from our house that also does livery, so OH suggested having a look with a view to when I got a new neddy stabling it there.
We popped up there and he went and spoke to the owner, came back and one of the grooms showed us round.
She even offered to show us their youngstock, never one to pass up the opportunity to spend time with 4 legs, we did.
And I fell head over heels in love with a pure bred boy who will one day be grey.
Went home, didnt think twice about it.
About 8 o clock that night OH pops to the shop, is gone longer then it takes to buy a bottle of wine and then comes back..................................................WITH ONLY THE NEDDYS BLOODY HEADCOLLAR HE'D GONE AND BLOODY BOUGHT HIM FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After I stopped freaking out I had to ask how he had paid for him cause as far as i was aware we hadnt won the lottery and OH explained he had decided to sell his motorbike, buy me Neddy for my upcoming 30th and with the change buy himself a 2nd hand motorbike.

I guess quite a few of us will be sending the link to this thread to our OH's nearer Christmas! That's such a lovely thing for him to do - what a star!

Not yet, I did try to take some yesterday when I went to see him for the first time but I was shaking too much and just ended up with some blobs on my phone.
At the minute hes about 16.2, 2 years old and a funny bay roan/grey fuzzy bear but he is just so gentle.

AAAAAHHHHH- what a super bloody wonderful OH- actually mine is also as bllody wonderful- After my nag died at the start of the summer he was as sad as i was and also sad because all i did was cry and clean for 6 weeks. He helped me find my beautiful new nag, drove me to see him (300 miles) and then said we could buy him and he would work harvest to restock our maxed out saving!!!

Somtimes the OH amaze you!!! I love him so much already and this just made me love him a teeny bit more!!!

PLease give your OH a hug from me and tell him that his kindness really is worth gold!!!!

Maybe we should have a sticky for the OHs and such like people in our lives who make it possible/that bit easier to have horses in our lives

. Mine did financial gymnastics so I could get Dizzy (she was almost double my budget!), he went without whilst the girls got their ponies, and now he's going without again so's I can have a trailer, even though many thousands went down the pan when the lorry died (we'd only had it for a year). Daughters look after my horse when I can't, as does Friend. We're incredibly lucky m'thinks!

Aww fabulous, my OH was sellinghis bike to buy me some new equipment, but he was in a crash last week so its kind of been put off for a while.

He could have just said he didnt want to sell it any more :P
