Have my own horse. We have our 11 year old irish bred mare who is 11 (owned her since she was 4), but I always have to take a back seat and share her with my 16yr old daughter. I love beanie to bits but find myself hankering for one of my own. Should be grateful for what I have got I suppose, but winning the lottery would be really nice!! That would solve my dilemma!

I think winning the lottery is my only hope now! With any luck you daughter will get herself consumed with her social life once she has the freedom of a car then you can have horsey all to yourself!!

Well if she's not lost interest at 16 and on to boys I fear she may want something with more go or that can jump more which will mean more expense.

Know it well. We bought one for our daughter and she let me share occasionally. had to go and get my own in the end..now she borrows him too!
 
do a Cilla job and find her a boyfriend, that should mean you get the horse more. The only danger is that he's one of those that gets dragged into coming along to horsey events, so not only do you not get the horse, you also have to put up with some spotty adolescent going with you everywhere you go!
 
Ahhh, thanx everyone. Made me feels loads better. Daughter still very interested in equines, more so than the boys, but she is trying to find a p/t job, so.............. you never know.

I am 17 with a p/t job, a "spotty adolescent" and a pony (although she is out for the ocunt at the moment) dont listen to anyting they say! If your daughter is anything like me it wont make a scrap of difference if she is dedicated enough! (sorry

I was afraid someone might say something like that. She is very dedicated and will no doubt stay that way. Maybe I should sneak out in the car when shes not looking and go by myself!!
