Well i had the vet up to lucy again today. The blood has stopped coming out of her eyes but they are still inflamed and the lumps on the base of her neck are still the same as they where when i found them a month ago. The vet took photos of lucys eyes to send to the specialist she has spoken to on the phone but no one seemes to know what is going on the specialist has never seen blood from both eyes before! The vet also took photos of the lumps and blood samples to see if the lumps on lucys neck are her lymph glands up due to a viral infection. But she mentiond the dreaded C word today! She said lucy could have a growth on her neck witch has spread to her eyes. Now i just feel sick with worry i wish i knew what it was. Lucy doesn't show anyother of the signs of cancer she doesn't seem ill and hasn't lost weight. But if it was a viral infection i would have thought she would have been ill? What with my puppy nearly dieing last weekend and the huge vet bill i know is coming and still growing i feel so down at the mo. I realy need to take lucy for a ride to cheer me up but i can't. Life sucks.

sounds awful

poor you you must be sick with worry.Keeping fingers crossed that it has been caused by a viral infection and nothing more sinister (((hugs)))

If your vet has to ring up for advice, I wonder if the time has come to get a referral to a specialist equine hospital/clinic? There's a brilliant one in Dursley, Gloc and they have a visiting eye specialist who was superb in caring for Sunny. Might be too far for you but there are bound to be others near you. Fingers crossed x

Yes, I'm sure at this stage your vet wouldn't object to a request for a referal to a specialist. Fingers crossed for Lucy. xx

Thankyou to you all. The results of the bloods will come back today or tom morning and the specialist should have seen the photos. If the bloods show a viral infection we should be able to sort things out and the specialist will say weather she needs to have a look from the photos. I have said to the vet not to worry how much it will cost as i will find the money somehow. Lucy is not insured so i think she is trying to keep the bill down for me hence emailing the specialist some photos first they may beable to diagnose from them and tell my vet what to do. If not then they will come and have a look.

Oh good god

Everything crossed for you both that the vets can get to the bottom of the issues.

Thinking of your both.

eveything crossed that you find out soon and its nothing too serious, we are going through similar with my horse, still dont know whats wrong and I dont know whats worse the mounting bills or just not being able to do anything for them or with them. very stressful, hope it all works out, let us all know what the vets say x
