Just an update for those who read my posts a few weeks ago about the dodgy saddle fitter who ran off with some of my saddles after having seriously screwed up my horse and my daughter's pony, charged money for work he didn't do etc....the list goes on.
Well, I decided to pursue him through the SCC and really spelled out what I was claiming for - theft of saddle, taking money for work not done, suffering to horses, negligence in fitting the saddles etc. And much to my surprise I got a cheque from him for the full amount - and have been waiting for it to clear before telling you all. It cleared today - yippee!
So tomorrow I've got a new fitter coming out to get new saddles for my two. I've had to wait ages to get it finalised as i obviously needed the funds to move forward, but hopefully the time is nigh.
Other good news about this is that i contacted all authorities I could at the start of this when i was looking for help, and now Trading Standards and Consumer Direct are looking at him further. I am delighted about this.
What does rile me however, is that he just sent a cheque - didn't bother with the court forms etc - and made no attempt to redeem himself or clear his name so to speak. Just write a cheque and clear the slate. It astounds me.
Well hopefully this particular dodgy geezer will get his just deserts after all.
Thanks for all your supportive PMs and post guys, a good day for all I think!
