thankyou to everyone that sent me vibes for my girlie (the gorgeous bay in my sig) last week unfortunately I have had the results from the x-rays taken yeserday back and the outlook is not very good. She has chronic navicular in both front feet plus a few other things going on, I am meeting with the vet on monday to discuss our options (as she is only nine years old)

For what it's worth, my mum's TB horse (Philli in my sig) was diagnosed at 14. She had light work for a few years after and has been ridden occasionally in the soft sand school and on grass ever since.
She gets a 'no-bute' herbal supplement and is barefoot.
I actually think she could be hacked on the roads with Boa boots but she can be a bit clumsy so mum doesn't want to risk it lol.

She's now 25 and is going to be put on bute for the last few years of her life. We didn't want to do it earlier as it's not good in the long term.

It's horrible, horrible disease but it's not a death sentence providing you don't want to do much with her.
