Looking for a nice Iberian for a friend who has just lost her horse to colic.

Specification:

Not too young, she is too old for the antics of a young horse. She's a very capable rider, she doesn't doesn't want to deal with it. Currently performing at least BD Novice level, though not necessarily affiliated.

15.2 to 16.1 , depending on build. She is a tiny five foot three-ish

Capable of going to at least Advanced.

I haven't asked the budget, but knowing her well, I don't think budget will be the limiting factor.

Two hours travel from Manchester. Longer or overseas trips to see a big group of possible horses might be a possibility.
.

Want to help me look?

Rikki lee from the best Spanish horses is amazing to deal with she is 100% honest I bought two wonderful boys off her both are exactly as discribed and definite keepers, she caters for all kind of budgets and arranges everything for you. Good luck in your search

Karen Manzi at Duns Tew would be worth a call; all of hers are doing very well under Alice Hurley plus she has good contacts abroad.

Thanks everyone. She's going to try and source in Britain. She rode a beautiful black GP level stallion at Hope Farm near Widnes yesterday. Tim seems to know what he's talking about and says he will help her find one. PM me if you know any different?

I reckon Janine at Pen Llyn (http://www.lusitanocymru.co.uk) would be able to help and I'd recommend her without hesitation.

I'm going against the grain here and probably going to get lynched. I'm not a fan. Horses are all very flashy, saw her riding a few years ago and the horse she was on was constantly grinding away at the bit and didn't look very happy. Quick search on their YouTube shows again constant bit grinding, tail swishing and a bizarre over exaggerated Spanish walk.

You could try Charlotte Wittbom in Mobberley if your friend would consider a Lusitano? Hannah Doggett often has things in for sale too.
I've got contacts down South and could give you some suggestions if you were able to travel further?

I've checked Charlotte's website and Facebook and neither have been updated for a long time. I'm thinking she has stopped training and selling for some reason. We live near Manchester Airport. It might be easier to go to Portugal than down south :)

Charlotte is still training etc, I believe she did a display of training techniques at the recent breed show. I've seen horses of hers advertised on Horsemart. A flight to stansted could well be more expensive than a flight to Lisbon but I'd be wary about buying abroad. I've done it myself without problems but have seen others spend eye watering money on something that's unsuitable.
