Overwhelmed
Ludo from his fifth ever lesson today. He's four, schooled for less than six months, maybe twice a week for half an hour in a wide arena, and he's really growing up! Our trainer today was a bit shocked by his progress and extremely complimentary, which has made my day after a week with a bad cold. He says he has three super paces, and if this is what he's capable of at four, he's going to be really good.
He has moments of inconsistent work, of course, but he's getting more and more rideable, and allowing me to look like a better rider than in the early days when he was throwing me everywhere! Our trainer is now saying how well I'm doing with him instead of hinting that I might not be good enough to do him justice, which is great ðŸ˜.
He isn't stuck in these positions, either, I can get him to reach down and out and come back up again too. Better still, he is such a loving and lovely character. I sometimes wonder how he just fell in my lap when I wasn't looking for a special horse.
But doesn't he look Iberian? More Luso than PRE, though Appys are in theory from Spain originally???
