I am sure there must be a post on here about this but cant see it . . . my horse lives out 247, she is fine living out in this apart from her feet - she has eggbars with wedges so manages to get snow packed in them, with the temps its freezing - tried to get her out of field this morning and she had 4 inches of frozen ice under her feet and couldnt walk - so i planted her back in the snow and tried with a hoofpick - no chance so had to use the edge of a farriers rasp and bash it off - i have tried hoof oil, vaseline what else its there - or is it just cos eggbars????
cheers!!

I solved this today, used industrial grease for machines out of a tube & packed it in with a brush, worked fab on Kizzys bar shoes!! Good luck

My boy got egg bars on too its a right pain getting the snow out I just hack away wiv the hoof pick and it just comes out. Not sure with wedge too? I gave up using vanisee as it didnt seem to make any difference.

I have been putting baby lotion in my horses feet which seems to stop the snow balling up in there feet. They have normal shoes on though.
