Their effects are so short lived that I just wouldn’t bother- the water evaporates and then the rug becomes insulating. You would be better to just wet the horse's body before you load up and after you unload and invest in a little fan for the inside of the box to keep some air movement

Yes that’s my thoughts, but wonder if that’s the experience. The Equi-ice one uses a coolant which promises more effect than water, but I’m not convinced that would work as promised.

It doesn't because it uses alcohol so it's evaporating tech and only cools the first two layers of the skin.
