Icy dread locks!!!

Anyone else got this issue? Our mini Shetland has full mane and tail but I have noticed today the very end of his mane has little icicle dreads!!! It's nowhere near his neck and he is nice and toasty underneath and under his thick coat. Tried to bring him in during the weather and he was having none of it but feel a bad mummy! He does have shelter and plenty of hay!

Just shows how thorough his natural insulation is to keep body temp and still allow icy fur extremities. Our little Welshies used to get eye brows and whiskers icy too. Freezing fog most spectacular

The Shire horses on our yard had snow sitting on their backs.... very well insulated. I really wouldn't worry.
