ID tags on tack, do you have them?

I'm just about to order new pet tags for the dogs and was thinking about getting some to attach to my horses tack. This would have my contact numbers on it in case something happened to me while I was out hacking on my own. Have you done this if so, where have you place the tag, saddle or bridle and what information do you have on the tag? Thinking I should also put OH number on it?
I keep my horses at home so I don't need to identify my tack from anyone else's but just thinking it might be a sensible thing to do for safety. I've only lost my horse once out hacking when he did a massive spook and spin and I came off. He ran in to the woods and vanished. I was so worried he would get on to the road. Was all fine in the end but made me think if someone had found him what would they have done? I did ring the police but they were completely useless!
I also have a sharer for one of my horses so if anything happened to her someone could contact me.
 
Yes, I have got a tag on the D ring of my saddle with horse name and my number and OH number and a tag on my hacking jacket with my name and OH and my parents number (in case someone was to find me unconscious or with memory loss I guess). Fortunately none has had to be used so far!
I choose the saddle as the bridle could come off/break off if it got tangled in a tree or in legs with runaway horse.
 
I have a dog tag on the D ring of my saddle. It has the name of my parents' farm (where my pony lives) and my mum's mobile number.

I came across a tacked up but riderless pony a few months ago and had no idea where to start looking for the rider or where it came from. A dog tag would have been very useful.
 
I have one attached to the back ring of my saddle. It has my home number, mobile number and vets number on one side and horse's name on the other side. My daughter and I both ride the horse, plus she does a lot of TREC on him, so I thought it would probably be a safe thing to do. Keep meaning to get some to put on his outdoor rugs but have too many! (He did escape from the field once)
 
Yes have a tag on my saddle d ring - needed one to do a trec competition last year and have kept it on since. Makes sense to do although hope its never needed! Has my mobile number on, also husbands and the address of the farm.
 
I have little blue plastic key fobs on my rugs. After a while they all start looking the same and by mid winter I have rugs hanging everywhere so I thought about it the other day and came up with the tags solution to identify them :)

Never thought about a tag for the saddle but I'm now going to get one :)
 
I have the double sided pet tags in a bright green so they are easy to spot. I have them on my saddles. On one side I have written 'Rider', my name and my mobile number on the other side I have the horses name, address and three phone numbers, mine, my husbands mobile and my father in laws landline.
 
I have one on the D Ring of the saddle and another on the cheek piece buckle of the bridle. I confess they were originally to name the tack for PC camp - at 6 or 7 as she was then she wasn't hacking alone. But its a habit we have stuck to that now has safety reasons!
 
I have just ordered a load for my turnout rugs as last year my pony somehow managed to escape and was bought back by a dog walker (who luckily knew where he was from) who had clipped his dog lead to the chest straps of the rug and led a very meek pony home!
 
I have tags on all kit... I use the dog agility bendable ones for around a rein, let's face it, if the bridle comes off I'd still want it back!
I do wish you could get a duplicate microchip to your horse for your saddle, to put in the flocking.
The other slightly mumsy thing is I have an emergency kit of laminated A4 generic "LOST!" sheets, tape and a stapler for all my horses. In the lorry, house and stables. So if I do find one missing I am straight onto that rather trying to print it in blue because there's no black printer ink. It has a good markings shot and description/ all contacts. It's straight to the police, local animal shelter and neighbouring farmers.

Luckily this has only needed to be done once and having stuck these up I subsequently found the horse stuck in an old calf barn!
 
I have the BEIDS saddle tag and wristband. It costs about £15 a year,got mine through the BHS. They have all your details who to contact. Photo of you and horse. If you should part company and the horse is found then the finder can ring the number on the wristband or saddle tag and all the horses details are there. Where it is to be returned to and contact numbers. If you are injured again paramedics or whoever rings the BEIDS number and all your details are there.
