ID X TB/ Irish horse owners - mature slow??

I heard that ID x TB 's or just irish horses in general mature really slowly/ late.
Not sure if its true or not.
Has anybody else heard/experience this?
Also is it physically or mentally?

Every mare IDxTB I have ever met has been incredibly intelligent !

and I will let you know how my 3 year old grows...we are giving her this year off as I think she is going to be a big lass !

I have a 7year old IDxTB who is only just really matured now. Physically, and therefore mentally as she couldn't have taken the schooling when she was younger, although she is very switched on and talented so definitely worth the wait! My other ISH mare also was quite slow to mature (according to previous owners) but is very bright, definitely a favourite cross of breeds, both show jump & event

Yes. I would say my big ISH (17.1h) was at least seven/eight before physically mature
