a friend of mine is going to look at one over the weekend and just wanted some input as to what they are like ? i know every horse is different but just wanted a general opinoin on the breed

I love mine, would definately go for another one.

All the ones I know do very well competition wise and are easy to deal with. Mine is calm but has an edge to him (if that makes sense) not a plod and not a push button.

Great all-rounders.

Mine does everything and anything. Certinly not a plod but pretty laid back about most things - but, like every horse, can certainly have her funny five minutes!!

Hi L!

That's Star's breeding. If your friend would like to meet her let me know!

Is it Jake's mum?

I would definately go for another without doubt!

thats what abbey is and its bril, as everyone has said, there sturdy enough and sensible but have the TB for that extra wow when it comes to jumping! tell her to go for it!!!

Depends on mix as to temperament - we have one very sharp one and one laid back - all depends how much of each breed

Generally lovely horses

That sums our two up as well. Both have shedloads of character though.

Try and find out the bloodlines, that can often tell you a lot about the horse's talent and temperament. If you can get any names post them on here as there's a good chance some of us will have "cousins".

THis is my favourite type of horse. My Moose is ID x TB, mostly TB, it has to be said, which makes her athletic and VERY fast and a bit bonkers at times...but enough ID in her to make her solid and a bit chunkier than a pure TB, and generally very sensible and level-headed. She looks after her numpty rider very well indeed. I think she's wonderful.

definitely the best cross you can find, not that I'm biased or anything....

My first horse was 3/4 TB and slightly off her head (she only allowed me on her) but she came good in the end! they're a super mix for xc, great speed and acceleration but also very genuine and honest. I trusted her 100% to look after me in every situation.

you should go for it!!!

It usually seems to produce the best of both breeds while avoiding the less desirable traits, giving a horse that will suuit most types & levels of rider. That said I'm a huge fan of purebred IDs, feel they're greatly underrated & love mine to bits - I wouldn't swap him for any IDxTB!
