I have done this before, but would like a little more information this time.

Would appreciate if you could show me your Irish DraughtxTBs, and tell me what height they are, what sort of temperament/behaviour, what their feet are like, good/bad doers, all that sort of information and anything else. Also what height you feel they would be comfortable jumping around a track of.

Much appreciated, so thanks :D

Ok here goes :0)

Height 16.3
what sort of temperament/behaviour- Perfect in the stable a real gent riding he is as mad as a boxs of frogs lol
what their feet are like his are quite good better than my other horse who has odd feet his are very even not brittle !!
good/bad doers - Mine is a good doers.
Also what height you feel they would be comfortable jumping around a track of. I would jump 1.30/135 but he has jumped 1.45 classes!! think it depends on the horse it self if its in his/hers breeding etc!!
And here is the beast in question!! Arab head and back end ID!!

Don't own one but am after something like that :)

It really all depends on how they are bred and how they are cared for/fed etc. There are many variations of ID X TB, some can have more ID blood than TB and visa versa.

You could get a ID X TB that could only manage 3ft, yet you could get a little pony type going around Badminton so it all depends and isn't just down to breed! The horse will be able to jump the height that it and the ride are capable of.

They can vary greatly in height, I don't think there is any defined height brackets, and also good feet etc is really down to things such as husbandry and diet imo.

Irish type horses with some TB blood are quite popular for eventing/hunting due to having the speed and ability of a TB, but the temperament and bone of an ID....however you can get and bad types of any breed! I know a few lovely ID x TB's, but I have also met a handful of very difficult ones too :)

ID/TB/Connemara. Lovely feet. Sharp & spooky, but very friendly & bold. Should really jump, bred for the job (KoD) 16.2 & will really carry weight (hopefully)

ID/TB. General superstar, completely unflappable & biddlable, v friendly & easy. good feet, real weight carrier, but only 15.2 (was supposed to be 16.2) Average ability, but extremely successful all rounder.

This is Delphi. She is forward going and a real lady. Easy to do etc. Her feet are somewhat flat but ok. She has a hell of a pop in her. She has competed at 1m 10 but I am sure would have gone further if asked. Here she is.

16.2

Mare but not a mareish bone in her body. A delight in hand, loves people, safe but fun ride. Absolutely push button, will go out in a group or on her own and still have perfect brakes. Can get excited but always safe.

Excellent condition feet but quite large/flat at the front (typical draft) but haven't ever caused problems. (touch wood!)

Does well but easy to keep in shape. Lives in or out.

Successfully competed at affiliated dressage, county level showing, been round Tweaseldown at 2.9/3ft and completed 20 & 25 mile rides. Could have done so much more in braver or more competative home. :o

Had hock spavin but remained sound.
18 now and mechanically lame from a kick which damaged her tendon. Retired to being mum and happy hacker.

All in all my perfect horse. Would pay very good money if I could find her twin!! :D

Ferdie is probably ID/TB, we don't know precisely! He is 16hh and had a lot of bone. Rides like a much bigger horse as he is very long and quite a wide chap to sit on.

He is a very genuine, honest horse, but is a sharp ride that is very sensitive to his riders weight and balance. He gets very upset if the rider becomes unbalanced.

He used to be a good doer, but as he has got older (now 15) he has found it harder to hold his weight. Has particularly excellent feet though.

In his prime he jumped around intermediate BE, and has therefore made it around 1m25 tracks, although this really was the limit of his scope.

Here is my old mare she was 16.3 my first horse coming of a 148 pony.huge jump up.
she was an angel, i had her from a 4 yr old so did all the work myself which was great.
she jumped up to 1.15 BS and evented up to BE100.she was such a lovely look girl.
we then loaned her out for 4 years as she wasnt scopey enough for BS. in those 4 years she didnt go to a single show, but was so well looked after.we were so disappointed as loaner said they would event her etc.etc.but due to having 5 others we could not afford to keep her through the winter too.
she is now a broodmare having come back from loan with a crumbling foot making her on/off lame.we had 3 vets on the case 2 from liverpool but no had seen anything like it before and we had no success.she lives with a bar shoe on now is happily in foal and grazing away with her new owners.
here she is when we were doing really well:

She really is a stunner!! my kind of gal!! xx

This our ID x TB (Jack of Dimonds) she is 15 hands. We have had her 7 years, she is now 17. She has a lovely temperament, very gentle and polite in the stable. She is quite a stressy mare and tenses up and jumps around if something upsets her but not in a nasty way. Would never bite, kick, buck, rear. She tries her best but is easily upset, if you tell her off she just turns into a huge stress ball.

She has fab feet, is a very good doer. She has been a fantastic horse. She has done open PC events...3ft 6 courses. XC/ out hunting she would jump anything.

She is very short through the back and has to have the physio out a couple of times a year just to release everything as she gets a bit tight. We have had trouble getting a saddle that fits as she has no space for one with huge shoulders and no length.

Bit more heinz than idxtb, she was sold as ish and is actually (idxtb)x connie
DSC05034.jpg

She is 15.3hh and eight years old. A good doer with great feet (she is barefoot). A fab hardy soul with the handy irish fifth leg! Rides like a pony and is just brilliant fun and absolutly bursting with character! Only had her a year and spent most of it off with frozen school through the winter and a sarcoid more recently, we at last are off again! She is the safest hack ever - doesn't get silly in company or alone and will canter through open fields without being stupid and pulls up very easily. She can be quick when she spooks though and if you weren't paying attention you could well find you no longer have a horse under you! She puts alot of trust in you, but takes time to build this. She has wonderful natural scope and we are just starting to do a bit of jumping with her. She really trys for you even when things are difficult for her (self carriage doesn't come naturally as she has been allowed to go along v on the forehand in previous homes), though she isn't above a bit of a pony bronc if she feels you are being unfair - if she is trying hard and you push her too much she will let you know! Never being dishonest though, always straight bucks, never meaning to bury you! She is a wonderful horse and with a winter of work we will prob affiliate bs next year and potter on with our dressage (2nd in prelim in first outing). She is perfect to handle, though if she thinks she can get away with something then she will give it a go - she was a bugger at first but with firm and consistent treatment she is just lovely now. She is a little like that under saddle too, because she picks things up quickly if you accidently back off after a spook she can take the mick.
Basically my perfect horse though, would clone her in a second!!

My lad is an ISH, 1/4 ID, 1/4 TB (dam's side) and 1/2 SF (sire's side), but there's loads of TB in his sire's bloodlines...

16.2hh, lovely temperament, cheeky without being nasty, has a good memory for things I've schooled him for and not done for weeks!

I think his feet are pretty good, but recently the farrier came late and his front feet got a bit dodgy...

He seems to be a good doer, he's neither fat nor thin, he's out at nights for the moment.

He has jumped clears over 1.10m courses with his previous owner...
