My little dog could do without putting on any weight and I need some ideas for low calorie fillings for his Kong ball. He's left on his own a couple of mornings a week and the Kong is ideal to keep him occupied while I am out, so what can I fill it with that wont pile on the pounds??

Combine his dry dog food with some hot water until it turns into a smush, then fill Kong and freeze. Or, steam potatoes, carrots, peas, sweet potatoes . . . or any combination of veggies you like . . . mash lightly and then stuff Kong and freeze. Chicken livers . . . blitz in food processor with mashed potato or cooked rice and then stuff and (yep, you guessed it) freeze.

Wainwrights lighter version.

Low fat soft or cottage cheese.

Raw carrots.

Mattesons lighter version.

Banana.

Make it with part of his daily food allowance. At one point, I fed one dog almost entirely via his kong to keep him entertained. :o
