Hey, im looking for information on the depth of a Sand/rubber arena.

I have been quoted for 6"sand with 1.5" rubber on top. I think (no experiance) that 6" sand on the base will be too deep, am I correct in thinking this? If so what depths do you guys use? Or what would you recomend?

Thanks

Any advise would be brill :)

Yeah that was what I was thinking, Sorry forgot to mention is 20by40 to be used maily for flat work bt if we can stick a few jumps in we prob will, it will get used a lot but I think thinking a total of 6" is prob what I should aim for not sand of 6" with rubber on top of that.

Any other opinions would be great though.

To a certain extent, it's not the actual depth of sand you have that determines whether it rides deep or not, it's the quality of the sand.
If you have a good sand, that packs down well it won't make much difference whether it's 3" or 5", but it will still need time to settle down, ideally before you then add your rubber to the top.
I'd want at least 4" of sand, with 2" rubber on top of that if you're going to jump on it.
