Ideal depth for sand/rubber arena

Hey, im looking for information on the depth of a Sand/rubber arena.

I have been quoted for 6"sand with 1.5" rubber on top. I think (no experiance) that 6" sand on the base will be too deep, am I correct in thinking this? If so what depths do you guys use? Or what would you recomend?

Does anyone know if its easy/possible to add more sand to a sand rubber arena if I end up putting too little down or does it not work very well?

It's be costly I would have thought, as you'd have to take the top off before you added the sand so you didn't bury your rubber.

Get some quotes from some other companies that specilise in buidling arenas and see what they're charging and for what ratios.
