Why must i have such expensive taste!?
crazy.gif
I recently traded my old GP for a jumping saddle as i felt so unbalenced jumping in the GP and it didnt fit particularly well either.. but as we event i have put myself in the situation where i need a dressage saddle. Tried out a couple of second hand ones and couldnt seem to find one i felt comfortable in so my instructor let me have a go in her Ideal Suzannah saddle.. IT WAS PERFECT!!

i really felt amazing in it and my instructor said it was the best she has ever seen me or Harvey go. Unfortunatly these saddles come with a big price tag

but i have heard good things about the next model down, the Jessica which i cheaper. So my question is has anyon on here had experience of either the suzannah or Jessica, or even better both and what are your opinions? Any recommendations? Many thanks xx

I have the Suzannah which I love and have also ridden in the Jessica. Both are really nice saddles. Its worth shopping around. I got mine new for a lot less than most people have. Think it was about £850.

yes, i've got the Suzannah and it is absolutely lovely to ride in. it feels as if it was moulded perfectly for my position, even the demo one felt that good, and the one i had made is just wonderful. i've ridden in lots of dr saddles in my time but not one as good as this.
btw, where are you in the country? it was made for my tb mare who is having a year off, so it's gathering dust at the moment, i don't want to sell it but might loan it to a very caring home...

jessica s are very comfortable and easy to ride in, and dont havethe extremely huge knee blocks which seem so common now. you still ride long but have more flexibility to come up a hole if necesserary.

I've ridden in a couple of Jessica's and love them. I have one for my horse, but she lost a bit of weight over last winter and it became to wide for her, so half heartidly tried selling it, but not to hard incase she got wider again. Tried it on her again Thursday after having had troubles in the school which i thought were saddle related and it fitted her ok, and all i can say is i was

throughout the ride! It's SOOO comfy and secure, and i had a good session from Corrie as well. Im able to get my leg in the right place, sit into her rather than purched on top, and get so much more out of her as a result.

NAT1003, can i ask where you bought yours from?

I think i'll have a little sit on a jessica and see what i think, but i have pretty much fallen in love with the suzannah!

Kerilli im going to PM!!

I have an Ideal show saddle for my pony and love it so much.
I am really wanting a Jessica for my boy but haven't been able to afford one

it is the best saddle I have ever sat on so far.

Another vote for Jessica. My friend has a large shouldered flat backed stallion. She liked my Jessica but wanted a bigger knee roll and lusted after the Suzannah. So her saddler is making on eup for her with a suzannah seat on a Jessica tree as the Suz didn't fit the horse properly. Ideal are fab! It's my second one (I have a Stirlingshire WH saddle, made by Ideal).

Oh, PS, I have managed to find mine -- both of them --- second hand for not a whole lot of money. The WH was on Ebay and bought it for less than £300. The dressage was bought under £500 on consingment thru the saddler.
