Does anyone have either of these saddles?

Ive been looking on ebay and have seen a few nice Ideal saddles, cant afford a new one, not when I want to keep my dressage saddle too, but I do want a GP/event because I just dont feel secure jumping in a dressage saddle.

I also really like the Jeffries Falcon but they seem to go for quite a lot on ebay.

I love the Ideal Event, its probably my favourite saddle there is. Its straighter cut that the GP but is very secure. My sister did a 3 day in one.

I have the new shape wide seat international ideal event saddle and i love it too bits.

I have one made esp for my horse with special tb pannels ( horse has withers that makes saddlers cringle ). I have the new version and i bought it in sept and its just the most comfy saddle ever.

I do use a sheepskin seatsaver on mine prurly as ive always used one and i find my bum just sinks into it but its sooo comfy without. I have the "grippy" leather on my seat and its great for dressage when you cant use a seat saver.

I would hightly reccommend it, but like all things what you like might not suit your horse so before decided anything id get a saddler to look at your horse and make suggestions.

i have an ideal event - really like it - i have pony with no withers and is very round - had to have a balence girth strap fitted but it stays in place now - you can get second hand ones on e bay sometimes x

I have an Ideal Pro Event saddle - it is wonderful, so comfortable, good quality soft leather, easy to keep clean and the only saddle of about the 16 I tried that actually fitted my horse (who I thought was quite a normal shape!!) It has a wide gussett to spread the weight across the back which I think is very important. I bought it second hand from Wychanger Barton for £325 but it looked almost new, don't think it can have been used much.

I've ridden in an Ideal, I assumed at the time that it was an Ideal Event but I'm not totally sure. However it was definately the comfiest saddle I've ever sat on! I hate Albions as they haven't got enough seat padding (I have none of "my own"!) but I found the Ideal had an ideal amount, excuse the pun! Enough to keep me perfectly comfy but not too much so I felt sat away from the horse. Only ever hacked in it once or twice though but that was my initial reaction - didn't want to get off!

Oh God don't say that I've just spent extorionate amounts (well to me anyway) on an Albion, didn't find it uncomfy when I tried it though although I do have my own padding!

Hi St_Bernard! I have a G.P ideal at the moment, it is pretty comfortable and easy to ride in though there are more comfortable saddles around. I use mine for jumping and dressage and it's fine for both. It's quite a few years old too and still in fairly good condition though abit rubbed in places. I used to have a fieldhouse VSD which was really comfy and fine for dressage or jumping in.

Ive got an Ideal GP, I feel its similar to the fieldhouse event in that I feel like Im swimming on it!Feels so big compared to pther saddles..is very comfy tho, horse doesnt like it too much as its quite a lot of leather on him. PM if you want regarding it St_Bernard..
