Hi everyone,

Thoughts on both? Pics of you riding in them would also be good :)

Also if you have got one how much did you pay for yours?

Thanks in advance
x

Since I just Bought (bye bye student loan) an Ideal Impala 1450 yesterday for Billy who had been complaining that he didnt like the colour of the saddle I had (typical boychild), I am clued up about prices of Ideals :p

the Impala was £800 new, but thankfully I had the saddle to trade in so paid 450!

Havent ridden in it yet (uni :() but will get some pics for you tomorrow :)

I've got a pro and used to have a springbok! I liked the springbok but I love the impala pro. The springbok is the same as an Albion kontact, better for people long from hip to knee I think. The pro is a better fit on me (as a short person) and I find it nicer to ride in. Both were in the region of a grand and both were new.

i have a single flapped ideal jump saddle but i dont no what its called! Its very simple and doesnt have many blocks. I have lots of photos of it on my facebook page if you want to see?x

Great thanks. I have ridden in the springbok was not 100% sure if my position was as good in it as my current saddle although i suppose i would get used to it. I am long hip to knee. Am yet to try the Impala Pro. I much prefer the look of the pro though - and I know Ideal are quite good at doing alterations (ie more forward, less block) if necessary as they did for my dressage saddle.

I've just got a Springbok and I am very long hip to knee and don't fit in most saddles unless they are very forward cut and 18". I think mine is 17.5" and it fits fine, no sticky out knees. It makes me sit up more than my Stubben. I didn't want a close contack saddle at all as I don't think they are that secure, but I feel safe in it.

Here is me in mine on:

I am 5'9 and long in the thigh. I loathe knee blocks.

great thanks for all of that info everyone. I have been quoted £1350 for Springbok and £1500 for Impala Pro does that sound about right?

Really not sure what other options I have for my long legs as my local saddlers dont have a huge selection.

I paid £1350 including stirrup leathers and girth for the Impala Pro but this was when it first came out. I think that was about Jan 2009.

I paid £800 for my Ideal Impala about 4 years ago now. That included fitting.

Apart from the first 2 pictures in this album all are me riding my pervious horse in the saddle. I love the saddle so much that i have kept it even tho i dont have that horse anymore. I plan to either ge it fitted to my new horse when i get one or buy another Ideal Impala when i get a new horse :)

I loved my Impala Pro up until fairly recently, I just can't seem to keep still in it anymore. But it is a really lovely comfortable saddle, I just don't feel that secure in it (am a short ass, only 5'2 :D) Paid 1500 quid a year ago.
