Not advertising, but I'm looking to buy one of these and the prices seem to vary considerably. I'll be buying privately as no shops near me seems to get these in second hand.

Has anyone got an idea of what a reasonable price would be for one under a year old? The prices I've seen online seem to vary from about £250-£650!

Also has anyone using one of these on a chunky cob? I currently have an Ideal vsd which is a H&C. And rider-wise, anyone tall with chunky legs struggle with these?

Thanks

The ones sold on ebay (I didn't check age) in the past 90 days have all gone for under £250. I'd be inclined to look for any that are local to you, go and see them to get a proper idea of condition, make your mind up what you want to pay and then put your max bid on.

IME all the private sellers who haven't managed to get top dollar selling privately stick them on ebay where they reach the price that someone is prepared to pay - which is of course what anything is worth:)

I would think the higher end of that price scale for a saddle that is under a year old, i had one it was about 5 years old had not had much use and was in very good condition I still managed to get £350 for it.

Mine was a wide and it was too narrow for both of my horses a wide Arab and an even wider Warmblood.

I've had a Jessica and would suggest you would be better sticking to the h and c ttpdd for a cob as you will get a bigger spam over the withers and a flatter tree. The h and c tree was a much better fit on my chunky Irish draught mare.
