Ideal Jessica Tree

Does anyone know if the Ideal Jessica is always built on the Highland & Cob tree, or if it comes in a range of tree shapes? I'm looking for a dressage saddle for my cob and the saddle fitters I have emailed have suggested I try come and try their Ideal Jessica saddle and an Ideal T&T saddle. But I want to make sure they're build on a hoop tree.

As far as I know the Jessica is not a hoop tree, Ideal do a freedom tree now though so maybe that would work as it's like a hoop tree.

The Jessica is on a unique tree afaik, it's certainly unique in terms of seat, it has a slightly cupped cantle shape. Any built on the H&C tree would be specially made, though that's true if Ideal generally, you need to know what tree is in it. Bear in mind there have also been various incarnations of the H&C over the years and afaik there are currently two versions. I would not consider either tree to be a hoop tree in the traditional sense (or how I define them in terms of fit) but then I don't agree with most definitions anyway.

They are usually built on the 286 tree though I have come across a couple on a DT tree. Think Ive only ever seen a H&C tree in the wider tree though.

I know black country do a hoop tree but I tried to find a second hand dressage one for ages and couldn’t but that was years ago now.

I think there are so many variations now you would probably be able to find something that works other than an ideal saddle.

Many H&Cs are on a narrower version, some older ones have really high narrow cantles that look like they'd go nowhere near most wider backs. Mind you, putting a wider seat on a saddle being billed as something that makes it "more suitable" for a wide horse, with no other change, drives me slightly nuts.

The Jessica was such a good saddle at a good price .
Well set up for hacking as well as dressage they where great for young horses .
I used to have eight of them I miss them they where old friends .

I loved them as well my warmblood mare had one so I bought another one but it wouldn't fit either of my Arab's

IMO they're a bit narrow in the twist for both horse and many riders. The slightly concave cantle shape (can't remember the correct name for it, it's formed by plastic "bellies" in many cases) can cover up a multitude of sins.
