After the death of our JR, we have finally been able to start talking about what to do next.
The worst thing in our household right now is the absance of a dog. When you wake up in the morning and she's not there, and when you go for a walk and she's not there to come with us..it's pretty horrible.
We have all gotton over the initial shock and dispair of loosing Daisy. We can now smile and laugh about our memories, and I only shed a tear once a day for her.
We have decided that we deffinately want another dog. It's just not the same without one. We realise that it wont be the same, we know the risks of maybe being dissapointed as Daisy really was the perfect dog.
We have decided that we can't get another jack russell- we would always be comparing it with Daisy, and it wouldn't be fair.
We would want a medium sized (bigger than a JRT, but not as big as a labrador), so the dog would be easier to keep in the garden, without escaping through teeny tiny holes.
We would like an energetic dog, but one that does like cuddling up on the sofa in the evenings.
We originally thought a Beagle, but they are pretty expensive from what we have seen. Mum would like a whippet x lurcher (or just a whippet). We did think about rehoming a greyhound, but they would be just too big- so we thought maybe an italian greyhound?
Open for ideas, what do you think would be the ideal dog? There are no children in the family so thats not a problem.
And no, we aren't planning on going to get a dog tomorrow or anything- we would want to wait for a few weeks before we started seriously looking, but we have all come to terms with the situation so have decided we can start doing a bit of research.
Cheers!
