I noticed at my local tack shop along with all the really elderly in need of tlc second hand saddles a Ideal GP which looked to be in quite good condition.
Its £400 but i believe they are open to offers. Is this a reasonable price for an Ideal?
I think i have heard they are adjustable by an Ideal trained saddler for almost any horse, Would this be true?
I am thinking i may borrow it whilst the saddler is out in the next few weeks to try my horse but know nothing about second hand retail value!

It depends on the model and how old they are, despite if they are in very good condition, if you come to sell it again or part ex it with a saddler they won't give you half of what you paid, so don't be conned into speading too much at a saddlers, if it's one of the older models, obviously if it fits you don't mind what you pay really but it's something you need to consider if you can get one of the more latest models to fit, then you won't loose money on it.

I've got 2 in mint condition and my saddler was asking £500-£600 for them BUT they never sold:eek::eek:. So sounds about right to me:)

go for it, if it's good condition i think that's a steal. my ideal vsd was £500 second hand (in very good nick) and so worth it, lovely saddle.

Ok, No i have no idea what model unfortunately or how old it is- the lady in the shop *might* she's very helpful so worth asking, am thinking it may have to stay there for now as i have no cash free but they dont seem to sell many!

Thanks
