This might sound a bit strange, but I read a post the other day (which now I cant find) about a brand of saddle - i think ideal being sold under another name?!

Any ideas?

I thought Martin Wilkinson was the only saddler who could put his badge/stamp on Ideal saddles. I know that he works closely with Ideal to develop their saddle range. I use him and think he is fab. Will be checking my saddle tomorrow as i know it is an Ideal but i am pretty sure it has his badge/stamp on it.

The ideal I bought from him 10 years ago has an ideal badge however the one my friend recently got is badged Martin Wilkinson. I have used him for years and like you thought he was the only one who could badge ideal.

I have a Crown Marquis WH and it is indeed an Ideal Saddle. I love it to smithereens and recently sent it back there for a refurb. Fab. The National Saddle Centre have saddles by Ideal, too. In fact I have two Ideal saddles with different badges on.

I bought an Ideal 2yrs ago from Martin Wilkinson. Great saddle but with his badge on it. Where do you stand when you need to sell them? Do you sell them as Ideal, will people that haven't heard of Martin Wilkinson know this or can you get the badge changed back????
